Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress, best known for the films Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. She began her career in the 80s before coming to popularity with her role in the Tezaab film, where she starred with an established actor Anil Kapoor. Her next appearance was in Dil where she was on screen with Aamir. In Mumbai, she was raised by middle class parents. As a child, she began to learn about age, she started to learn dance. Early in her life, when she first started to perform as an actress, most films that she made were not successful. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and then became one of the top actresses in the Indian film industry. Following her wedding, she took a short time off from her acting career prior to returning. In recent years, Dixit was a key player in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards. Of these she's won eight. The actress was also honoured with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. In addition, she has been recognized by the social sector.
