Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His global success has seen him break into mainstream Latin music. Una Lady Como Tu from 2016 won a Colombian Kids Choice Award as Favorite Song for 2017. The album he released as his debut ADN was released through La Industria Inc., a Medellin-based Sony distribution firm. The album reached number 8 on the Top Latin Albums Chart. Vaina Loca, one of the Top Five hit of Ozuna's Top Five album in 2007 led him to join Ozuna. He dropped Dopamina the chart-topping second album, in the years following. In 2021 he recorded an duet with TINI's popular single Maldita Foto. The smash hit La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo was raised in a musical environment, as both his mother & younger brother are musicians. In his interviews, Turizo has declared that music is essential. As a child, he was instructed to perform on the guitar, piano and the ukulele. Although his first choice of career was to be a veterinarian, the brother Julian encouraged him to enroll in singing lessons with a Cuban instructor and as a result personally discovering his talent in the field of singing changed his entire life.
